ENOCH CREE NATION, AB, Sept. 5, 2026 /CNW/ -- Enoch Cree Nation is mourning the loss of a community member following an incident that occurred during this evening's Indian relay event at the Enoch Rodeo Grounds.

Chief and Council extend our most sincere condolences to the family. Our community is grieving, and we are holding them in our thoughts and prayers.

The Nation is working with the appropriate authorities as they conduct their investigation, and we will support that process fully. Out of respect, we will not be speculating on the circumstances.

We ask that the media respect the privacy of the family and of our community during this difficult time. Further information will be shared as it becomes appropriate.
